Your LMS seems to be awarding completion based only on accessing the module, not whether or not a passing score was submitted (as would be indicated by your Quiz Settings). From the description you gave, it seems your issue occurs well before you get to the Quiz Results slide. I have encountered some LMSs where we had to prevent the learner from completing the module unless they had passed the quiz, but these situations are rare.

This can get you into a number of dead-end situations because the quiz result actions only fire when the timeline passes from the Quiz Results slide to the next slide AFTER that. If the user reaches the Quiz Results slide and has NOT yet passed the quiz, the continue button will not work and they cannot progress beyond the Quiz Results slide.

Setting this dropdown to User must pass the quiz to continue only affects the behaviour of the Continue button on the Quiz Results slide. Setting to Optional in no way prevents you from setting a 100% passing score to be required by the learner for the overall module quiz.

You should still try changing the Quiz > Settings > Required dropdown setting to Optional because that is the safest setting for most LMSs. If that is the ONLY box selected on the dialog for LMS Advanced Settings then it would indicate that Resume Data Bookmarking should be currently working because to STOP the bookmarking you have to select the NEVER send resume data checkbox.Īs I said, the Pass Required setting is often misinterpreted. It's not related to scoring in any way and usually only applies to AICC courses, not SCORM. The other setting you want to enable is Scalable HTML content, which will allow SCORM module to fit in any available space in browser.Escape version and session ID is not the setting I was referring to.

With both HTML5 and SWF option enabled, the size of output zip file (which you need to upload to LMS) would get doubled of course. Althought they would work on Chrome and Safari.

If you don't select SWF option, your embedded mp4 video will not work on Firefox on PC and MAC. SWF allows your package to work on PC and MAC where flash plugin is available. HTML5 allows your package to load on iPad. If you don't have any video then you can have just HTML5 option. Its best to select HTML5 and SWF output option, if there are any MP4 videos, because not all browser currently support HTML5 based playback of MP4 videos (including some older versions of Firefox). Depending on if we need to track students progress we wrap up the modules as a scorm package and use the scorm upload provided by canvas or we just create the swf and the html5 file.

That can be done while Captivate is closed, by running the CleanPreferences file which you find in the subfolder ‘utils’ under the installation folder.

If you have embedded any video in the slides, then select the Progressive Download option We are using Captivate and depending on the project we embed the file within canvas or sometimes we retrieve it from a private server and embed them in canvas. If that is not helping, clean the Preferences. If you are creating Quiz slides, then look at the quiz settings and select appropriate features like Shuffle answers Select other options on this page as per your need.Important ones to look at is Success/Completion criteria, which allows you to specify either slide view based or quiz score based (or both) conditions. Enable the reporting checkbox and select SCORM 1.2 or 2004. To enable tracking, open the File->Publish Settings, and go to Quiz section. Read more about general SCORM usage in EduBrite here.
